Experiencing a miscarriage is both physically and mentally draining.
Some women have recurrent miscarriages and have to endure the strain of repeated grief and physical loss. But this doesn’t necessarily mean the end of your fertility journey.

Miscarriages are more common than people think; around 1 in 5 pregnancies end this way – Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
At The Fertility and Gynaecology Academy we understand the frustration of couples who have been through the heartbreak of successive pregnancy losses. We specialise in these cases. We help you to understand why it happens and guide you through procedures and treatments that could prevent it from happening again, including reproductive immunology, immune testing, and immune treatments.
These kinds of tests and procedures will give you answers to the many questions you have when you have suffered a loss, and will improve your chance of future pregnancy success.
Alongside your treatment we advise that you think about counselling to help deal with the emotional aspects of losing a child and the IVF process.
The Fertility and Gynaecology Academy are experts in reproductive immunology. Pioneered in the 1950s by Dr Medawar, it is based on the understanding of how the body’s immune system fights off unrecognised cells that could cause it harm. It’s believed that a woman’s ‘natural killer cells’ (those which fight off infection and disease) can exist at “too high levels in the bloodstream” and “overpopulate the uterus” effectively causing problems for mother and baby and even targeting and rejecting the foetus.
Without giving our couples false hope we are dedicated to offering our patients the best chance of future success. Dr Gorgy, who has worked alongside Dr Alan Beer, has helped many couples improve their chances of pregnancy success by investigating why their immune system is having a negative impact on their fertility.
